• “AI and State and Local Government Adoption and Polices“, by Dr. Alan Shark. CAHMP member, Dr. Shark is an associate professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. Dr. Shark also serves as the executive director of Public Technology Institute (PTI) a nonprofit headquartered in Washington, D.C.

– Often cities and counties are at the forefront of innovation. Local governments are developing policies and AI guidelines that are both aspirational and impactful. This brief discussion will share the latest in both applications and policies.

• “Civic technologies, information access, and risk management: Information Science Approaches to Improving Public Health and Risk” by Dr. Myeong Lee. CAHMP member, Dr Lee is an Assistant Professor of Information Science and the Director of the Community Informatics Lab at the George Mason University.
